Jasper Felder - Sweden

Jasper Felder is a legend in the sport of ice cross downhill.
He held seven victories, including a five-year undefeated streak.

Top Five Tips from Jasper Felder!

"1. CONTROL YOUR EMOTIONS
In this sport, it pays to have ice blood running through your veins. "Get hold of your emotions at the starting gates, and, yes, there are a lot!" says Jasper. The start gates are the most nervous time for the competitors, especially first-timers. There's an added incentive this year, though, with the MINI Rookie Award.

2. GET A FAST START
This one's extremely important. The fastest out of the gates is often the winner, so a quick start is vital. Forget anything you've heard about marathons and sprints, it pays to put on the burners early in this one. "Focus on the start, it can be the difference between being first or dead last!"

3. DON'T LOST HEART
Okay, so you weren't quick out of the blocks. Whatever you do, don't lose heart. There's over 300 metres still to go, with hairpin bends, bumps and jumps aplenty and three other guys going at 55kph. In other words, plenty of thrills and spills. "IF you are number three or four out of the gates, take your time," says Jasper. "Stuff is gonna happen during the race... you've still got a chance."

4. CARPE DIEM
You only get one shot so make it count. You may never get this moment again. JLS said that about trying to charm a lady, but hardened ice warrior Jasper's of quite the same opinion when it comes to tackling the ice. "Take the chance when you see it, you got nothing to lose..." Remember, Martin Niefnecker beat the odds last year to become champion.

5. HAVE FUN!
Finally, and this might be the most important one of all, enjoy yourself! "Have fun, cause it's the coooolest sport on the planet!!!" Quite literally..."
